PORTABLE SOLAR ENERGY
RES engineered the solar powered NASCAR hauler for Peck Motor Sports, Hanover, Pennsylvania, in 2012. Solar energy powers everything on the trailer except the auto lift which requires a stand alone generator.
The solar additions to the race hauler make Peck Motorsports the most environmentally friendly race team in all of NASCAR. The solar panels and LED lights help reduce the transporter’s power consumption, save battery power on the transporter, promote a more efficient use of light energy, eliminate emissions and reduce production of carbon dioxide during the races. It also creates a quiet work environment at times without the noise of generators. The team’s first appearance with the RES solar hauler was at the Iowa Speedway.
RES partnered with the Institute for Research and Advance Learning, a Virginia-Tech partnership in Danville, Virginia, to create a green power educational trailer, engineered by RES for solar energy to run the exhibits on LED lighting, educational tools explaining how solar is made, AV systems for renewable programs on solar, wind and alternative technologies.
